|Mortabond Skimcoat is German Technology formulated as smooth coating for plastered wall. An ultra thin set skimcoat application, It helps rough and uneven surface to a flat and even surface. Its high initial adhesion and non-sag properties make it deal for overhead applications. Longer open time gives good workability for a superior finish.
It patches pinholes, dent gaps and bridge cracks on concrete substrate and also serves as fillers to correct column, beams and ceilings.
|Surface preparation is important for good adhesion. In surface preparation, Substrate must be structurally sound and clean, free from oil, dirt, and other contaminants. Wash down with clean water thoroughly before application.|
|Mix the required quantity of SKIMCOAT powder with clean water in a suitable conatiner until a tacky like free from lump substance is achieved. A ratio of 0.3 part water to 1 part SKIMCOAT powder is recommended. For more effective result, allow mixture to stand for 3 to 5 minutes. Stir occasionally during use.
Refrain from adding more water to a mixture which has already begun to set. Adding more water might weaken the properties of the product.
|Wet the wall thoroughly with sufficient water until absorption stops and allow to drain before applying to avoid future flaking. Apply Skimcoat using hand trowel or putty knife. Allow to set, then fill up to level finish. Let dry for 20 mins. Additional coat can be applied as needed. Applied area may be sanded to attain flat, even surface Wash surface with wet sponge then let dry preparation for topcoat finishes. For best results: let the plastered wall to stand for 3 to 5 days to dry before application to avoid future cracking.|
